Letters from a Binational

Growing up I was raised by an American father and Australian mother. In 2014 I became a dual citizen. While the countries I belong to are relatively similar there are minute differences that are hard to explain. Both are like home, which sometimes feels like I'm a part of two things, and neither all at once. 

 

No matter where I am, I feel as though I'm away from home. Holding to the tradition of writing letters to send back home, I use these poster-like visuals to represent thoughts, feelings, and events that I've experienced in traveling between two homes.

This body of work is a very personal expression of my experiences growing up with mixed nationalities (however similar they may be), and traveling between two countries that feel like home.
