Phoenix examines the interconnectedness of lives, perception, viewpoint, and mental health, within a fictional context. The illustrations I have created are done in alcohol-based ink, watercolor, and digital processing on Bristol paper.
I created the illustrations in a blend of styles. Firstly I approached them as if they were created from observation, allowing for flaw and semi-naturalism as well as gestural elements. The application of varying detail and focus comes from the way film has shallow depth of field, and can hone in on the main focus or idea of it's subject. I use this to show what is pertinent to the scene and what is subsequent.
